What effects have cell phones had on the Am0erican family?

       Imagine you, your mother, father,siblings or anyone in your family did not have a cell phone. Imagine that your only form of long distance or even "I am at the store, what do you want communication" was through land lines.I imagine that life to be slow, troublesome, and to some degree lonely. With that being said, cell phones have had a positive impact on the American family.

       To truly be connected with or be a "family," a family needs communication.Cell phones help families come together because of the degree of communication it gives people. No matter where you are in the world you could communicate with whoever has a cell phone on the other side of the world without the restrictions of cables. This freedom makes family communication more frequent and  less stressful.
       People may that that having cell phones damages the time that family members can spend together because of how a cell phone can trap people in their own worlds. That is a valid argument, but when weighed that  against the positives of cell phones such being able to contact someone the at you are looking for when you have no idea where they are; or if you are extremely far away from home and you want to speak to family, cell phones make that possible at whatever location both parties maybe. That ability alone makes cell phones very valuable to the relationships that people want to preserve in their families. With that being said I believe that cell phones have brought families closer together and will only continue to as the capabilities of cell phones expand.

What is love?

My shibboleth is love. When i was younger it was simply my family loved me and i "loved" them. As I grow up and see the world through more mature adult eyes the thought of how to love someone becomes more meaningful to me. What i would like to do with this post is share with you my thoughts or what I have so far have summed up as my definition of how to love someone is?

                How do you love someone? By giving, giving in an honest, friendly, with a smile on your face way is how you love someone. Giving anything from your time, money, respect, etc. to a person can result in you loving them. I am not saying that the next time you say “ hey I respect this person” that you love them but if you combine those three aspects and anything else that you could possible give to someone multiply that many times  and what comes out is a relationship with someone that could flourish into love.

 A few examples to back up my clam are if you see a couple on the street or know of one and you say “how did he get with her” or vise-versa my answer would be they gave time to each other whether they were forced to or not which in time build a relationship of love that penetrated the individual flaws of one another in each other is eyes. Another example is the love of parents which starts with the love of a mother and why I believe the love of a mother is a little more than the love a father because; she gave you a body to grow in for 9 months, she gave you 5 hours of labor, and when you were born, with the help of you father they gave and still give you the tools to be the best that you can be even if you are already grown up. All that giving I believe the love of our parents is something that we, their children, will never understand and why our children will never understand the love that we have for them. With that being said, the love parents have for their child is second only to the love that God has for humans. Just to touch upon the love that God has for us, because that in itself is another post, we can look at the fact that he gave his only son to die for us. He gave up the only child that he had so that we could have a chance to go to heaven. That ladies and gentleman is some crazy giving; would you be able to give up your only child to get betrayed by one of his closest friends, beaten close to death, and nailed to a cross to die for the sins of people who do not deserve it?
